SOUND

This page is about sound and how it is different compering on the place you are in. In one of the first lesson about sound we learnt what reverberation is . Reverb is one way of saying echo this is when sound bounces off different surfaces in a room.

This room is big and open with soiled surfaces which makes is reverberation.

This is what is called a dead/dry room because it is small and full of stuff . This will stop the sound from bouncing of the wall's in the room.

The best way to capture a recording is to be in a medium size room so you do not get reverb . A second place that might not be a good place would be outside because of the wind interrupting the sound of your recording.

In this sound recording one of the things that needs improving is how I speak .This will be better if I spoke more clearly so it is easier to understand.

I put this sound recording and edited it on adobe audition. I cut out the parts that hade no sound to make it more professional.

We used a H1N to record the interview and a sd card to save the recordings on.

  • What scenario would you use this set-up in ?
  • Interview or if someone is moving around.
  • Why is this set-up often good for a clear recording ?
  • The microphone is positioned close to the subject's mouth.

Above are two of the places where we used the H1N in the college.

This is a lavalier mic which is attached to a person so it can pick up the sound better with less background sound.

This is  best used when you are talking with someone because it dose not pick up as much background  sound but it will pick up the person who is talking .

I used adobe audition to edit the the sound file to mash them together to make one long interview.

I made the interview by putting three sound clips together to make one long interview . I used adobe audition to do this.

I used a lavalier mic which clips on to the persons t-shirt to pick up there voice beter and so there is not as much background noise.  We also used a H1N to record all of this on as well as a SD card.

I would have liked to have made a scripted so it would sound more smooth.

If given the choice of room to record in I would pick a dead /dry room because you will get the cleanest recording. This will allow you to add effects and there will be little or none reverb.

What is a pop filter

A pop filter is a cover for a microphone this can help reduce 'plosive' and 'sibilant' words.

Acoustic treatment

Acoustic treatment helps reduce the reverb in the room also having thicker door's and wall's can stop sound from outside the room.

I edited it on adobe audition to make is sound more clean and not jumpy .

I recorded it using H1N with a pop filter I also used an sd card to upload is to the computer.

How it was made

I made it by speaking into the recorder about my walk to scholle . Then i edited it on adobe audition to cut out the blank parts and only background noies

This is a video that I made with clips that are copyright free Bensound royalty-free music and pexels for the videos.

I edited this on adobe premiere pro I got the videos clips and music from Bensounds royalty-free and pexels

all of the clips and videos are copyright free.
